How To Stay Motivated And Keep Moving Forward?

2 Mins read

Many a times in life we find ourselves lacking something- some kind of driving force that would help us reach our goal or help us move forward in life. That driving force is nothing but motivation. We all need a little push in life. We all seem to be trapped in this loop where we are motivated for a short span and everything goes back to zero.

But there are ways through which we can keep our motivation alive. Here are some tips to keep ourselves motivated:

  1. Make small reachable goals: Do not burden yourself with goals that are too far fetched or difficult to attain. Take one step at a time. Focus on how you can break your long term goal into small targets and focus on the one at hand.
  2. Appreciate yourself: Celebrate small victories for they bring you a step closer to your ultimate goal. Focus on your positive qualities and things that you have done good for they will help you stay positive.
  3. Engage in things that you like to do: Spend you leisure time in things that interest you and keep you motivated. Focus on your hobbies and spend al least 15-30 mins a day engaging in those activities.
  4.  Change your body language: Our body language has a lot of influence on the way we feel or thinks. Therefore whenever we find ourself losing confidence a change in our posture can really be helpful. Some examples of powerful postures are: leaning back with hands behind the head, standing with legs wide open with hands on your waist.
  5. Change your environment: A lot can be changed if we change our environment. Positive people emit positivity and negative people emit negativity. Therefore to keep yourself motivated it is important that we stay with people that are positive.
  6. Self talk: Sometimes we have a lot of thoughts running in our mind which make the situation complicated. In a situation like this we can engage in self talk by saying out loud the things that are bothering us and go one by one. These talks are helpful when they focus on the positives and when one believes in themselves. Sentences like “I can do it”, “I will figure this out”, “This seems to be attainable” are motivational lines that should be emphasised on.
  7. Stay healthy: The more you take care of your physical health, the better would be your mental state and in turn your performance. Therefore focus on your eating and sleeping habits, keep yourself hydrated, go out for walks and get fresh air. Fresh air gets you more oxygen that makes the brain more productive.
