The Effect Of Our Relationship On Our Kids

Those years when your child is growing up are very critical. Not because it is when you can mend them the right way, but because you can influence them for the best and worst then. They don`t learn what you teach, they learn what you do and everything you are. This plays and huge role while they are building their characters, as the most influential characters that will trait in them will be yours.

A strong bond and a lovely connection between parents is the foundation for any family. Not just money, comfort, support but a single healthy relationship you hold with your spouse will be the best gift you can give your children. A child learns more at home before he begins to explore the society. And if he learns how beautiful a relationship can be he/she will learn to build a relationship as beautiful as that in their lives. If they get to see the love and happiness you share for each other, they will idealize a relationship as yours in their lives. The way you treat your spouse is how your kids will treat their spouse.

Kids attract both good and bad in the relationship that they see between you and your spouse. They can easily get affected if they find you both constantly in argument with each other, abusing, disrespecting each other or in fact cheating on each other. It is completely foolish to think kids are too small to understand them. Yes, they are small to understand them, but definitely big enough to capture and imitate them.

It is important that we realize how effective our words and actions can be in building a bright and colorful future for our kids. Remember when you are looking to sought to a fight – there is always a better way to handle this. It is pretty much necessary that you make your kids understand the need to eliminate the idea of violence from their heads and this is not what you can teach in classrooms. You cannot expect your child to abhor violence if you hit them for fighting with their siblings. In this case even though you try to incorporate a moral and good relationship between the siblings, the method you use will give them the idea that violence is still an option.

Since as a child i have never seen my parents argue in front of me or my sibling.Nor have i seen them complain about each other. They always found the most sophisticated and genuine manner of respecting each other and sorting out the differences. Today when i think of this,i understand how big of a part it plays in my relationship. I have learnt from them how to respect your partner and how to handle issues without having to create a scene out of it. But again i get to see many people and their behavior towards people and it clearly reflects the background that they have been subjected to.

Try to be your best when it comes to your kids. Being the best here does not mean being flawless, but to learn from the mistakes you have made.Let your children be the reflection of the essence of a beautiful family bond.
