Zareen Khan Sends Out a Brave Message on Instagram Against Body Shaming

1 Mins read

Body shaming is a cruel reality in our everyday life. “She is so fat and ugly”, “he is so short and stout” are some remarks we get to hear around us, wherever we go. In fact, such body shaming results in negative body image issues in many teenagers and many of them resort to excessive dieting and even succumb to depression.

Bollywood is not free from Body Shaming!

What is even more shocking is that our celebrities from B-Town, who we all admire and look up to for beauty and confidence, are not free from constant Body Shaming. They are often subjected to many rude comments and become victims of social media humour.

The method they use to tackle this is to simply ignore such harsh comments. While many remain silent, some actors like Aditi Rao Hydari in the past have been vocal about it and have sent out very strong messages on why it is important to believe in oneself and not be bothered about what other’s think about their looks.

Zareen Khan said, “In spite of being so big I never let people’s comments or ideas about me bother me.

Actress Zareen Khan also receives many ruthless comments on social media, about her looks and for her plump figure. Recently, the actress broke her silence and gave a perfect reply on why body shaming is wrong and how she has learnt to deal with it, despite being a victim for a long time.

Khan posted old pictures of her from her school and college days, along with a strong message to all going through Body Shaming.

She adds, “…it’s my life and my body and only I have the right to decide what I’m gonna do with it.”

Zareen’s story proves that Society’s opinions on body image should not stop you from becoming what you want to be. She is a perfect example and right motivation to all teenagers out there, who are victims of Body Shaming and have resorted to many harmful ways of looking “beautiful” in the eyes of the society.
