Children Write An Open Letter To Parents About Exam Stress

In 2006, the most recent year for which official figures are available, nearly 5,857 students – or 16 a day – have killed themselves due to exam stress.

Suicidal tendencies among students have increased due to the burden of expectations from parents along with academic pressure. The over pressuring of examinations is a leading cause of depression in students. Parents, usually busy resourcing financial expectations do not realise the problems of their children. Children need moral support during examinations but they seldom find it when their parents are working.
