Fixing Your Fight Bones- Tips to Avoid Fighting With Your Partner Over Petty Things

2 Mins read

Last night was a total disaster. All I could hear was my neighbors fighting over something. So this morning I woke up to ask them about the issue and trust me you will never believe what they fought over. They fought over Chinese take home versus Indian. Think it is such a petty issue? Yes, but the truth is most of what couples fight over are petty issues.

Being a couple is an art. Long-term couples have gone that long only because they have understood that differences add beauty to every relationship and accepting it is a necessity. But even in such relationships with much understanding what come in between are real small things that you might think are insignificant. Don’t you want to walk pass through these everyday fights?

relationship-1

First stop thinking changing little things is a big deal. Of course, too many can mean you are somehow changing yourself, but things such as  cuisine to dine are petty issues. Go for your choice once and give a day for your partner`s choice too. Fights are healthy but do remember it can turn out the worst part of us. You might unknowingly hurt the other person`s feeling. So be careful with what you speak. Never talk too much or disrespectful to keep fights away. Keep your aggression in control and make it much like a discussing rather than a fight.

What actually starts off as a fight never leads it long. It is all the past you try involving that keeps the argument heated. Try discussing simple issues then and there. Give your opinion if you’re strongly feeling the need to. Never pretend like it is okay when it actually isn’t. Also give the space for your partner to share their opinion too.

relationship-2

When you feel annoyed or irritated never take suggestions or decisions. You tend to be very vulnerable in such instances and better avoid any important conversations. Relax for a while and then go for the talk. Listen when your partner is talking. You might feel the urge to interrupt or ignore the ideas or decisions but not paying a heed will lead to a fight even for petty things. Give your opinion and respect theirs.

Take a moment to think if all this fight is worth. Sometimes the desire to be correct rather than right leads you down to a bad fight. Understand that you are in a relationship and proving you are correct all the time is not necessary. Constantly trying to explain that you are correct and why you are won’t do you any good. Relax and let the situation pass. Take a calm moment later to discuss what went wrong.

relationship-3

Remember getting pass through the moment when your anger trigger is the key to keeping your fights low. Aim at being happy and together rather than being right. Commit to making changes in your habits when there is a need to without relating it to your ego. Trying to keep away from fights is not going to make you a coward or wrong.  To show your love and respect express it right and commit to them and they will reflect the same to you.  So let your petty things pass and enjoy every little happy moment.
