Time Management: Everyday Hacks!

2 Mins read
We always have so much work to do. There is never enough time to finish the task at hand. With a huge amount of work comes huge stress and work load. In times like these, it is important that we manage our time for better productivity.

Here are a few tips that can help you with better time management.

  1. Make a list: One of the first steps when we have a lot to do is to make a list. Making a list helps us visualise what all work has to be done and at the same time helps us prioritise what needs to be done first. It is also a good way to keep a track of what is done and what is not in a more organised way.
  2. Set a target: After having made a list, set targets as to when we would want the work to be done. This gives us a clear view of the work and its course.
  3. Keep buffer time: Although setting a goal is important but keeping buffer time at hand for the unforeseen situations will help manage better without disturbing the future schedules. In addition, a little flexibility within the deadline helps in better productivity.
  4. Stop multitasking: Take one thing at a time and move step by step. The more the work at hand the lesser the focus on a given task. Our mind tends to work better when the focus is on one task rather than two or more.
  5. Take breaks: With the amount of work that our brain and body does, it requires break so as to perform better. Therefore it is important that we give proper time for food, recreational activities and most importantly to resting and sleeping. A minimum of 6-7 hours of sleep is a must.
  6. Avoid distractions: The kind of environment we choose has a lot of effect on the way we work. Therefore proper lighting, ventilation, good hydration and comfortable surrounding is a must. With a proper surrounding, having oneself well equipped before starting the work so as to avoid waste time in the middle of the work is also necessary. At the same time keep the distracting gadgets away.
  7. Learn to say ‘NO’: It is rather wise to say no than take up things than we cannot finish on time. Therefore it is essential that we take up less work and perform better.
